Weller - A revolutionary in hand soldering

Carl E. Weller, an American radio electrician, was tired of waiting for his soldering iron to get hot enough. So in 1941 he developed a soldering technique with instantaneous heating based on a transformer. Finally, in 1945, he founded the Weller Manufacturing Company. At the end of the 1950s, the company expanded overseas and in 1959 Weller Elektro- Werkzeuge GmbH was founded in Besigheim, which quickly became the world market leader in the development and production of hand soldering equipment.
