What does "R2R" stand for in flexible LED strips?
"R2R", or "Reel-to-Reel", describes a revolutionary manufacturing method that is used in our production of flexible LED modules. This roll-to-roll process has completely transformed the traditional production process and is now the cornerstone of our LED production line in Hechingen.
In the context of LED production, the R2R process enables the processing of flexible base material in a continuous, seamless process. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods that often result in cheaper LED strips, R2R production does not require solder joints every 50cm. These solder joints are often weak points, both mechanical and electrical, that can lead to production errors and long-term failures. With the R2R technology, such weak points are a thing of the past, which ensures a significant improvement in the product quality and longevity of our LED strips.
Most of our LED flex products are manufactured on our own, state-of-the-art roll-to-roll production line at the Hechingen site. This advanced production technique enables us to have high production speed and efficiency, resulting in significant cost savings and reduced time to market for products.
